This is the forth painting I did for the 'True Faces' show in November. Originally, this painting was called 'Vital Decisions'. I changed the name to 'Shopping Spree' for further clarity.
THANK YOU to all who showed up for the opening last Friday night. If you missed the opening, there is still time to see the work in person! The paintings will be on display in Argyle Fine Art Gallery until November 30th. The painting above is called 'Peer Pressure' from the 'True Faces' show. Below is some of the process.
Here are some character designs I did months ago for Best Boy Productions on the animated segments of the show 'Mickey, Everyone's Best Friend'. The show has be airing since early October. Check your listings for show times.

This Saturday night is the second year of 'Nocturne: Art at Night'. The Upstairs Appartment Gallery will be putting on a show you won't want to miss: 'The Haunted Gallery'.

The answer to last week's post is 'false'. Gum does not take seven years to digest - it passes through your system relatively unchanged. I don't know if carrots will really make you see in the dark, but it's proven to be true if you eat a lot of them your skin will turn orange. If you don't have the money for the trip to Florida and you’re against tanning beds, just munch on some carrots for a first class tan.

There's an urban myth that states it takes 7 years to digest gum. Is it the truth? The answer on next week's post! (oh, the suspense) This painting is part of Argyle Fine Art Gallery's 'Urban Myths and Legends' show on Tuesday September 22nd in conjunction with the Atlantic Film Festival.

This painting is a donated piece to help the cuase of the Canadian Mental Health Society in their annual 'Mosaics for Mental Health'. This year the theme is 'spiritualism'. So what did I come up with? Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde - the 4 Pac-Man ghosts! Anyway, I painted the pink one...THIS TUESDAY NIGHT (July 14th), come down to the Seahorse Tavern in Halifax for an evening art with myself and my pal, Derek Murphy. We’re exhibiting and selling paintings based on films and movies. (The painting above is one of the pieces for the show.)
Here are some more head sketches for ya. Drawn on the worst paper I could find.
Locally, the intersection of Blowers and Grafton St. in Halifax is known as 'Pizza Corner'. This is because 3 of the 4 corners have different pizza places situated on them. They stay open late and cater to the night crowd. Maybe I'll draw the other 2 at some point - just to be fair.
