TONIGHT - Pre-Shrunk!

Tonight is the 'Pre-Shrunk' show at Argyle Fine Art Gallery. I contributed the 3 paintings above. There will be quite a variety of art styles there and these little canvas will go fast so make sure you see the show! Starts tonight at 7:00pm. www.argylefa.tk for more info.

Zodiac Show

The Zodiac show this past Tuesday (Jan. 19th) combined the talents of 12 different artists patinting the full Zodiac live before your eyes. It was a blast! Thanks to all the people who came out to the show.
This awsome group shot was taken by photographer David J. Crewe. To see the rest of the photos he took during the event please visit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/djcrewe1/sets/72157623252596080/

I did the sign 'Leo' (although my actual sign is 'Pieces'). The original painting I did has been sold and unfortunately, I don't have a photo of the finished product. Here it is about three-quarters of the way done. Photo by Stoo Metz: http://whostolemybike.com/uag/artists/Stoo-Metz

NEXT FRIDAY: 'Pre-Shrunk' show at Argyle Fine Art Gallery. Myself and over 30 other artists are a part of this show conisisting of each artist preparing 1-5 works on canvas 5" x 4". Opening is Friday January 29th 7:00pm - 9:00pm. www.argylefa.tk for more details.

'True Faces' - Young Love

Above is the final painting from my 'True Faces' show back in November. The painting is called 'Young Love' and I think the name says it all.

Join me as well as 11 other artists this Tuesday night (January 19th) as we paint the entire Zodiac before your eyes at the Paragon. Show starts at 10pm - see you then!

'True Faces' - House Party

House parties - we've all been there! Below is a reinactment of the painting above taken from a friend's Christmas party.

True Faces - Fast Food

Happy New Year! Thank you very much to all the people who came to my art shows in 2009, provided encouragement, bought artwork and made the year a success. You're the reason I continue to pursue this lifestyle. This past year, I made a total of 44 paintings, 1 mural, 20 combined shows and apperances (2 of them solo shows) and numerous sold paintings, drawings and prints. I also managed to update this blog every week with something new. I already have shows in the works for 2010. The info to the next one I'm involved in is below:

True Faces - Pickin' Up

True Faces - Shopping Spree

This is the forth painting I did for the 'True Faces' show in November. Originally, this painting was called 'Vital Decisions'. I changed the name to 'Shopping Spree' for further clarity.
Tomorrow, I will be making on-the-spot drawings for people at Argyle Fine Art again along with a host of other artists. The event will run from 12:00pm-4:00pm and I will be drawing from 12:00-2:00. See you there!

* This Apartment Building above (over a hundred years old) has some serious history to it. Sadly, at the end of the month it will be demolished.

The sights of Halifax

I've taken an array of Halifax sketches I've been drawing over the past year and a half and arranged a show with the images that will take place at the Seahorse Tavern on Tuesday October 13th. There will be originals, prints and postcards for sale.

See in the dark, huh?

This is the other painting I did for Argyle Fine Art Gallery's 'Urban Myths and Legends' show. If you missed the opening, the show will run until the 11th of October.

The answer to last week's post is 'false'. Gum does not take seven years to digest - it passes through your system relatively unchanged. I don't know if carrots will really make you see in the dark, but it's proven to be true if you eat a lot of them your skin will turn orange. If you don't have the money for the trip to Florida and you’re against tanning beds, just munch on some carrots for a first class tan.

'Myth #304" acrylic on wood panel canvas, 11" x 14"

Is it true?

There's an urban myth that states it takes 7 years to digest gum. Is it the truth? The answer on next week's post! (oh, the suspense) This painting is part of Argyle Fine Art Gallery's 'Urban Myths and Legends' show on Tuesday September 22nd in conjunction with the Atlantic Film Festival.
