This Tuesday - be there!

* This Apartment Building above (over a hundred years old) has some serious history to it. Sadly, at the end of the month it will be demolished.

The sights of Halifax

I've taken an array of Halifax sketches I've been drawing over the past year and a half and arranged a show with the images that will take place at the Seahorse Tavern on Tuesday October 13th. There will be originals, prints and postcards for sale.

See in the dark, huh?

This is the other painting I did for Argyle Fine Art Gallery's 'Urban Myths and Legends' show. If you missed the opening, the show will run until the 11th of October.

The answer to last week's post is 'false'. Gum does not take seven years to digest - it passes through your system relatively unchanged. I don't know if carrots will really make you see in the dark, but it's proven to be true if you eat a lot of them your skin will turn orange. If you don't have the money for the trip to Florida and you’re against tanning beds, just munch on some carrots for a first class tan.

Is it true?

There's an urban myth that states it takes 7 years to digest gum. Is it the truth? The answer on next week's post! (oh, the suspense) This painting is part of Argyle Fine Art Gallery's 'Urban Myths and Legends' show on Tuesday September 22nd in conjunction with the Atlantic Film Festival.

Spiritualism?

This painting is a donated piece to help the cuase of the Canadian Mental Health Society in their annual 'Mosaics for Mental Health'. This year the theme is 'spiritualism'. So what did I come up with? Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde - the 4 Pac-Man ghosts! Anyway, I painted the pink one...

Head Sketches

Here are some more head sketches for ya. Drawn on the worst paper I could find.

I'm keeping busy right now creating paintings for a collaborative show in a week and a half with my pal Derek Murpy (his blog is linked on the side). We're producing original works of art based on films and movies. You won't want to miss what we have in store, so come down to Halifax's Sea Horse Tavern on Tuesday July 14th and be amazed!

Pizza Corner

Locally, the intersection of Blowers and Grafton St. in Halifax is known as 'Pizza Corner'. This is because 3 of the 4 corners have different pizza places situated on them. They stay open late and cater to the night crowd. Maybe I'll draw the other 2 at some point - just to be fair.

The UAG (Upstairs Apartment Gallery) is hosting a Rock & Art show tomorrow night at the Rock Garden on Hunter st. Local bands are playing and the art featured is all band/gig posters
by various artists. Admission is $3.

My Little Phony

These were given to me one time as a joke, so I thought I'd revamp 'em and sell them at the last UAG show. The 'Goth Pony' sold almost immediately.

"A Clockwork Orange"

Yet another visual pun (and film refrence) brought to life by my unyielding sense of humor. You will notice the numbers on the clock are bleeding - that's because it's a blood orange! Alright! Alright! I'll stop...
