'A part of our heritage'

This was the last painting I did for my show at the Paragon Theatre last month all dealing with an enviromental theme. The idea for it was actually floating around in my head for about six years before I finally sat down and painted it. 'Now, the people will know we were here.' , acrylic on wood panel, 12" x 24"
Join me the evening of Tuesday April 20th at the Paragon Theatre for 'Champions of Breakfast' (the cereal mascot art show)! Another fun filled sugar frosted group show you won't want to miss! See you there!

Only WHO can prevent forest fires?
I originaly planed to have Smokey UNintentionally burn down the forest behind him turning around in shock, but I thought it would be more amusing to have him fully aware of the enviromental damage he caused. What if animals had the same disregard for the earth that humans do? We'd be in a lot of trouble!Friday, March 12, 2010

Sad Unicorn

This is the final painting I did for the Economy Shoe Shop Show. TODAY and TOMORROW are the LAST DAYS to see the work if you still haven't. The idea for this painting came from a converstion with another artist I admire when he jokingly stated unicorns were not fit to paint. The painting was floating around in my head for about two and a half months before I was able to paint it and it SOLD before I even hung it up on the wall! 'Sad Unicorn', acrylic on wood panel, 9"x12"
Join me the evening of SATURDAY MARCH 6th 2010 for the opening of my month long show at the Paragon Theatre! (http://www.theparagontheatre.com/) That evening, I'll be presenting my new work and later making a very special painting LIVE to the audience! Included in that show are a series of brand new never before seen paintings all related to an enviromental theme. See you there!

If you haven't seen the show yet at the Economy Shoe Shop, this coming week is the last full week to see it. Also, I will be painting at the Paragon this Tuesday night for the 'Dead Celebrity Record Show' - see you there!

The Hug-A-Tron 5,000!

The name says it all! A robot specifically designed to relinquish your emotionally repressed needs! Isn't technology great? Buy one today and never be hugless again!
The robot is a homage to Robby the Robot from the movie 'Forbidden Planet'. I based the backlighting from the movie poster 'The Thing'. I've never seen the move, but one of my favorite movie posters ever made. I've gotten more comments on this painting then I ever would have anticipated…
Acrylic on wood panel canvas, 9"x 12".

True Faces - Fast Food
Happy New Year! Thank you very much to all the people who came to my art shows in 2009, provided encouragement, bought artwork and made the year a success. You're the reason I continue to pursue this lifestyle. This past year, I made a total of 44 paintings, 1 mural, 20 combined shows and apperances (2 of them solo shows) and numerous sold paintings, drawings and prints. I also managed to update this blog every week with something new. I already have shows in the works for 2010. The info to the next one I'm involved in is below:

True Faces - Shopping Spree
This is the forth painting I did for the 'True Faces' show in November. Originally, this painting was called 'Vital Decisions'. I changed the name to 'Shopping Spree' for further clarity.Tomorrow, I will be making on-the-spot drawings for people at Argyle Fine Art again along with a host of other artists. The event will run from 12:00pm-4:00pm and I will be drawing from 12:00-2:00. See you there!
