"Yep. I even draw on the Bus."

During my long commute back and forth to work in the summer I would sketch ususpecting passengers on the bus. You will notice that there is not an overabundance of people drawn front on. This is because it is way to obvious to the person you're drawing (and the way I draw is not too subtle most of the time). Except for the time I drew that blind guy. That was great, he had no idea!

I think the guy in the top left corner is the same guy with the purple sweater...

Some of these were colored long after I drew them. The one above and a couple other ones were modeled after the colors the person was actually wearing. I'll post the rest of these sketches next week.

This happy tabby is a painting I donated to support of the CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association). In mid October, they will auction and sell this this and other paintings/drawings of the same size. If you are a local artist and would also like to contribute, or to find out more about the show, here is the link: www.cmhahaldart.ca
Medium is Acrylic on Masonite, 6"x6".

This one's for the kids!

When I was a little kid, I usted to get confused between the 'Stay Puft Marshmallow Man' and the 'Michelin Man'. The Michelin Man is supposted to represent a tire company, but he looks alot more like he's made out of fluffy marshmallows and whip cream. It makes total sense to color him white too, considering tires are only black 99% of the time. Oh well... here's Stay Puft showing him who's boss.

Totally Tonal!

These were all drawn at The Public Gardens.

This one was a pain. While I was drawing it, one of my markers died and the light source started changing. I guess I gotta be faster. Oh well...

More layout thumbnails. Back by popular demand!

I bought some watercolor pencils about a week and a half ago. The sketch above is the first time I've used them since. Halfway through it, the light kept changing, my back hurt and I had to go to the bathroom. Yet, I still insisted on finishing the sketch. (I can be very stubborn sometimes.)

6 steps to curing a cold

I was sick all last week - it sucked, but at least I got this cartoon out of it. This is what I wish I could do everytime I get a cold.

'Halifax Tracks' 24" x 20"

This is the first acrylic painting I've done in years. Coincidently, it was also a good opportunity to improve my layout skills. It isn't a scene of any one place in Halifax, but a combination of reference photos I took around the city. It rains often in Halifax (in fact it was raining earlier today) so I thought it would be appropriate to paint it as an overcast day.
(Sorry that it's a photo and not a scan.)

The Gorillaz Style

I LOVE Jamie Hewlett's designs for the Gorillaz characters and thought it would be fun to draw myself in that style.

3 posts in one month? I rock!

These people were all drawn at Starbucks last night.

By the way, if anyone knows how to change the settings so when you upload drawings and click on the thumbnails you don't get giant images that you have to scroll to see the whole thing, please let me know!
