This is one of the new Valentine's Day themed paintings I did for my Shoe Shop Show. It is of course based on one of the most influential animated films of all time: 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'.
The name says it all! A robot specifically designed to relinquish your emotionally repressed needs! Isn't technology great? Buy one today and never be hugless again!
The robot is a homage to Robby the Robot from the movie 'Forbidden Planet'. I based the backlighting from the movie poster 'The Thing'. I've never seen the move, but one of my favorite movie posters ever made. I've gotten more comments on this painting then I ever would have anticipated…

Above is the final painting from my 'True Faces' show back in November. The painting is called 'Young Love' and I think the name says it all.

Happy New Year! Thank you very much to all the people who came to my art shows in 2009, provided encouragement, bought artwork and made the year a success. You're the reason I continue to pursue this lifestyle. This past year, I made a total of 44 paintings, 1 mural, 20 combined shows and apperances (2 of them solo shows) and numerous sold paintings, drawings and prints. This is the forth painting I did for the 'True Faces' show in November. Originally, this painting was called 'Vital Decisions'. I changed the name to 'Shopping Spree' for further clarity.

I'm ecstatic to announce that in only 2 weeks it will be the opening reception of my VERY FIRST Art Gallery Exibiton! The show is called 'True Faces' and will consist of a total of 9 paintings altogether. Hope to see you there!

This Saturday night is the second year of 'Nocturne: Art at Night'. The Upstairs Appartment Gallery will be putting on a show you won't want to miss: 'The Haunted Gallery'.
* This Apartment Building above (over a hundred years old) has some serious history to it. Sadly, at the end of the month it will be demolished.
I've taken an array of Halifax sketches I've been drawing over the past year and a half and arranged a show with the images that will take place at the Seahorse Tavern on Tuesday October 13th. There will be originals, prints and postcards for sale.
